STOP LOOKING BACK, GOD IS AHEAD

WELCOME BACK! The Bible reminds us in (Isaiah 43:18–19) that God calls us not to be imprisoned by yesterday but awakened to what He is doing now. God’s guidance always points forward because destiny is never discovered in reverse. When we dwell on what is behind, past failures that brought shame, losses that caused pain, or even victories that once defined us, we unknowingly anchor our faith to a season God has already closed. The past may explain you, but it was never designed to contain you. God is a God of movement, growth, and progression; His voice consistently pulls us toward promise, purpose, and possibility. When our eyes remain fixed on what ended, we risk walking past the new door God has already opened. Every new thing God does requires a new focus, and every new season demands a forward-looking faith.
Releasing the past is not denial, it is alignment. To release the past and align your faith with God’s future is to agree that where God is leading is far greater than where you have been. Lot’s wife gives us a powerful spiritual warning. When God rescued Lot and his family from the destruction of Sodom, He gave a clear instruction: do not look back. Yet Lot’s wife turned her gaze behind her, longing for what God had already condemned, and she became a pillar of salt. Her story teaches us that looking back is not just physical, it is emotional, spiritual, and mental attachment to a former life. She was delivered from destruction, but her heart remained in it. The lesson is clear: you cannot move forward with God while clinging to what He told you to leave. Obedience requires trust, and trust requires letting go. When God says “move,” hesitation can cost destiny.
Looking back can slow destiny, but looking ahead activates faith. God does not dwell in yesterday, He reveals Himself in the next step of obedience. Faith is not found in memories but in movement. When you choose to trust God forward, even when the path feels unfamiliar, you will discover that He has already gone ahead to prepare the way, making roads in wildernesses and rivers in deserts. Thank you, Uplifted Moments family, for choosing growth, obedience, and forward faith. May the Lord strengthen your heart to release what was, embrace what is, and confidently step into what will be. I pray that your eyes remain fixed on God’s promise, your heart stays aligned with His will, and your steps are guided into the fullness of His prepared future, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
